Innov8 acquires Viking Management Systems

BACKGROUND

Based in Stockport, Greater Manchester, Innov8 is a significant UK Sage 200 business partner, providing software and IT infrastructure for businesses throughout the UK. The Company has over 25 years of experience in ICT solutions.

Viking Management Systems Limited is a Sage Solutions expert and a Microsoft and Sophos partner. Based in Yorkshire with a different product offering and customer portfolio, there was a strong strategic rationale for the acquisition.

BUSINESS NEEDS

The acquisition was part of Innov8’s business strategy to expand its geographical reach from the North West into Yorkshire and the North East. Having made other smaller acquisitions, Innov8 was familiar with the process, but the owners recognised the need for external advice, allowing them to focus on the bigger decisions and concentrate on running Innov8 throughout the process.

Led by experienced and senior people, DTE ensured that the transaction could be achieved and dealt with the detail of each stage of the process including business planning, forecasting, conversations with funders, negotiating with Viking’s advisors and coordinating the other professional parties involved in the transaction.

Innov8 has successfully integrated the Viking business, and both shareholders have now exited the business and retired as planned.

Innov8 and Viking have continued to operate under their individual brand names.  Innov8 continues to be acquisitive and look at different potential areas of growth.  DTE continues to provide advice across all aspects of Innov8’s business.
